What is U Channel
Channel steel is a long strip of steel with a fluted section. It is a carbon structural steel for construction and machinery. It is a shaped steel with a complex section and its section shape is a fluted one. Channel steel is mainly used in building structure, curtain wall engineering, mechanical equipment and vehicle manufacturing.
Basic situation
In use, it is required to have better welding, riveting and comprehensive mechanical properties. The raw material billet for producing channel steel is carbon bonded steel or low alloy steel billet with carbon content not exceeding 0.25%. The finished channel steel is delivered by hot working, normalizing or hot rolling. Its specifications are expressed in millimeters of waist height (h)* leg width (b)* waist thickness (d), such as 100*48*5.3, indicating that the waist height is 100 mm, the leg width is 48 mm, and the waist thickness is 5.3 mm, or 10# channel steel. Channel steel with the same waist height, if there are several different leg width and waist thickness, it is also necessary to add a b c to the right side of the model to distinguish, such as 25#a 25#b 25#c and so on.
Our product features
Channel steel is divided into ordinary channel steel and light channel steel. The specifications of hot-rolled ordinary channel steel are 5-40#. The specifications of hot-rolled flexible channel steel supplied by agreement between the supply and demand parties are 6.5-30#. Channel steel is mainly used in building structure, vehicle manufacturing, other industrial structures and fixed cabinets, etc. Channel steel is often used with I-steel.
Channel steel can be divided into 4 kinds according to the shape: cold-formed equilateral channel steel, cold-formed unequal channel steel, cold-formed inner wound channel steel, cold-formed outer wound channel steel.
According to the theory of steel structure, it should be the channel steel wing plate that is stressed, that is, the channel steel should be standing, not lying.
Product advantages
Channel steel is a new kind of economical construction steel, the section style is economical and applicable, the mechanical properties are good, the advantages of the rolling section is incisively and vividly. Compared with the general I-steel, it has the advantages of large section modulus, light weight and metal saving, and can reduce the building structure by 30-40%. Because the inside and outside of the leg are parallel, the leg is at a right Angle, and the parts are assembled, which can save 25% of the welding and riveting workload. It is often used in large buildings (such as factories, high-rise buildings, etc.), supports, root piles, etc.
The channel steel can be processed into T-shaped steel, and the honeycomb beam can be combined into various sections, which greatly meets the needs of engineering design and construction. Channel steel is mainly used in engineering, plant setting, machinery setting, Bridges, highways, houses, etc. Good mechanical and physical function, stability, energy saving and environmental protection.

Production process of U channel steel
First of all, the production process of channel steel usually starts from steel mills. The raw material is generally based on iron ore, and through the process of high-temperature melting and smelting, the raw material is converted into high-quality billets. These billets undergo a continuous casting process in which molten steel is injected into a mold and quickly cooled into a continuous casting billet by cooling water in the mold. After a series of rolling and drawing operations, the continuous casting billet is finally formed into round billet or square billet.
Secondly, after the round or square billet is heated to the appropriate temperature by the preheating furnace, it enters the rolling mill for rolling. The rolling process of channel steel is usually achieved by cold rolling or hot rolling. The cold rolling process is mainly to cold roll the billet through the mill several times, and gradually press into the required channel steel type and shape. The hot rolling process is to heat the billet to the appropriate temperature and roll it into the shape of channel steel through the mill. In the rolling process, it is very important to control the speed of the rolling mill, the strength of the roll and the temperature of the cooling water, which will have an important effect on the strength, dimensional accuracy and surface quality of the channel steel.
Subsequently, the rolled channel steel is cut by the length cutting machine to cut the long blank to the required standard length. During the cutting process, it is necessary to ensure that the cutting size is accurate and smooth to meet the needs of customers.
Finally, the cut channel steel can be packaged into finished channel steel after material classification and surface treatment, and then passed quality inspection. The common packaging methods are steel tape binding, woven bag packaging and so on. The finished channel steel is transported through logistics and finally sent to the customer for the next step of processing and application.
The application range of U channel steel
1, building structure: channel steel is widely used in all kinds of building structures. It can be used as structural elements such as supports, load-bearing beams, columns and trusses for building houses, Bridges, tower cranes and high-rise buildings. The special shape of channel steel makes it have high strength and stiffness, and can withstand heavy loads and seismic requirements.
2, automobile manufacturing: channel steel is widely used in the automobile manufacturing industry. It can be used to manufacture components such as frames, body structures and chassis. Channel steel is often used to build the skeleton of an automobile, providing strength and stability while reducing vehicle weight and improving fuel efficiency.
3, ship construction: channel steel is also widely used in ship construction. It can be used to make hull structures, keels, decks and hatches. The high strength and stiffness of the channel steel make the hull stronger and can withstand the dynamic loads of waves, wind and ship operation.
4, machinery manufacturing: channel steel is widely used in the machinery manufacturing industry. It can be used to manufacture various equipment, machine beds and conveying equipment.Channel steel is often used to build mechanical structure frames, support frames and transmission systems to provide stable structural support and working platforms.
5, steel structure engineering: channel steel is an important part of steel structure engineering. It can be used to build temporary supports, formwork supports, roof trusses and site enclosures.Channel steel has good weldability and easy processing characteristics, suitable for on-site assembly and installation.
6, solar bracket: channel steel is often used in solar photovoltaic module bracket system. It can withstand the weight of solar panels and stabilize them to the ground or roof. The channel support system can be adjusted according to the light Angle to maximize the use of solar energy resources.
